This month is crazy!

It feels so weird that it's been forever since I wrote, but this just don't stop rolling this month. Ryder and I spent the past week in KC with my parents, mostly helping my mom with VBS. She's the Director of Children's Ministries at our church, so VBS is one of her biggest headaches--I mean duties. It truly is super-hectic and a ton of work, so I normally go to help her. I do actually enjoy it because I love the kids and Mom and I get into huge projects like that, but I mostly like that it really helps Mom out. I get to lead crafts, which is my favorite job anyway, and because, it's the biggest pain-in-the-ass job as well, it's the most help to Mom, so it works out perfectly. Plus I can help her get everything else organized and taken care of--and run during the week, though I'm not sure why people come to me with stuff when they can't find Mom. It's not like I'm in charge. Though it probably is the most logical decision since I'm the only other one who helps and is involved in everything and so actually know what's going on. Which I guess means that everyone knows that no one else does this stuff besides us. But VBS is done now and Mom and I are wonderfully happy that our last VBS is finished! And it went well, which was great for the kids. I don't have pics because they're all on Mom's computer in KC, so I'll post some next time I go to KC. Ryder did really well at VBS. He was a little attention starved since it's such a busy busy week for Mom and I and we're running around like crazy the whole day, but the up side is there are tons of people around who love him and want to play with him. Since he's two, Ryder was able to go to the 2-3 year old class, which went pretty well. Since this was his first time at a something without any family/very close family friends, I was really impressed. Each day he went to class for almost two hours after our 1/2 hour opening before normally needing a break, either coming to visit Mommy at crafts or working with Grandma, Chris or one of his other buddies for a while. The opening and closing where we "sang Jesus songs," as Ryder put it, were his favorite. Though he wasn't crazy about going to class always, he did well once he was there for almost the whole time each day. Pretty darn good for a kid who's barely two. I'm glad it turned out to be a good experience for him and I'm super-glad that it's finished!
