Chicago revisited
We all made another trip to Chicago last weekend to visit J for family weekend. (They have renamed parents weekend at Northwestern so that they can pitch the school to little brothers and sisters who now come for "family weekend.") It was especially nice since Heather also came for the weekend, which Ryder loved since he ADORES her. We drove up Saturday morning to go to the football game, which was fun despite it being a bad loss for Northwestern. Ryder loved the band and the mascot, though he enjoys the football too. After the game, we went to dinner at a wonderful Chinese restaurant. There's such a difference between take-out Chinese food and really good Chinese food. The sauces were all so light a flavorful--just great. After dinner, we drove up to Milwaukee to see my Grandma. Ryder loved getting to have Grandma and Mommy's Grandma both there at the same time. And I got to have my favorite WI treat--Kopp's custard. We spent the night at Grandma's and went out to a wonderful breakfast in the morning. After breakfast, we drove back to Chicago and made a quick stop at Ikea to pick up some stuff we forgot a few weeks ago. Then we headed downtown to return something Drew needed to return and have a quick lunch before driving home. All in all a very nice weekend.
