My Bunny

Ryder's favorite nickname is "my little bunny," which he will tell you if you ask. I think it all started because I call him my "snuggle bunny" sometimes, which must have turned into "my bunny" and "my little bunny." I didn't realize that he thought it was anything more special than when I call him any of his other nicknames. But a few weeks ago he started referring to himself as "my bunny" and "my little bunny." One day I said, "Which book do you want to read?" and he followed that by repeating, "Which book do you want to read, my little bunny?" apparently, he wanted me to call him "my little bunny." Since then, he's been calling himself "my bunny" and "my little bunny" at least once a day. If I make comments to him without calling himself "my bunny," he will often repeat them and add "my bunny" at the end. It's become our little thing--a little Ryder and Mommy sweetness. It came about by accident, but I'm glad it makes Ryder so happy. That makes me smile.
