This morning we went to class at the Children's Museum and this month's class was about trains. Ryder was soooooo excited! One of the things we did at class was drive trains through shaving cream. Ryder did agree to drive them, after of course I rinsed the trains off in the water so they weren't messy before we started. He did look a little skeptical about the boys playing in the other tray who were COVERED in shaving cream. Apparently, I found my "in" though because before we even got home he was asking me if we could playing shaving cream with trains. Yes! I've been trying to get him more comfortable with the shaving cream for a while, but he will only do it in limited doses. Now mind you, today I had to wash his hands like 10 times while we were playing shaving cream, but I was happy if it meant he was willing to take on some more tactile adventures. So we put off nap for an extra hour today while we played shaving cream and had fun together. Nice.
