Processing changes

Ryder has been doing so wonderfully with Carter and the adjustment to big brotherhood (or top of all the holiday craziness) that I think a little bit we forget all the changes that he's been going through. But he said something at the store two days ago that reminded us of all the changes that he's processing. When Drew picked Ryder up to take him outside, Drew pretended that Ryder was really heavy. So he asked Ryder, "Oh, you're so heavy! When did you get so big?" And Ryder told him, "When my baby came." Now that is totally melt-your-heart sweet. But it also reminds me that he's aware of his new status and all that's changing around him and how it effects him. He's got a lot to deal with too and I'm glad every once in a while that he reminds me in his sweet little way.
