Baby signs

When Ryder was little, we started to teach him signs, but then he started talking at 10mo, so we stopped because there really wasn't a point with him talking so well. But the only sign he did pick up on in the short time we did it was "more," which he would then continue to sign sometimes even when he could speak well--"Mommy, can I please have some more water" accompanied by the more sign. It was kind of funny. With Carter, we didn't really try to teach her signs--yes, the whole "second child syndrome" and all. But apparently the two signs that we adults all remembered were "more" and "all done" because those two we have taught her. And she does them well, especially more. She has even started this week saying "more" every time she signs it. This morning at breakfast, she picked up on the conversation two different times when Ryder told me that he wanted more and that he was all done, because when he said each key word, she would sign it. Glad to know she's paying attention and applying what she knows!
