Trucks work all day by Dad Scotton (also really by Ryder) illustrated by T. Cott
Keebits are just kind of like bulldozers, only some keebits kind of look like cranes. But keebits have a claw and rope. But some keebits don't have that. Other keebits have a scoop. One morning, a keebit truck picks up some broken fences. He dumps it in his favorite dump truck and goes to get some more loads of fences. Oh, look. Let's go get some more. He's trying to find some more broken fences. It looks like that's all of it. So he just picks up a broken motorcycle. Look, he's taking it over to the dump truck. Now he will scoop up some stuff that's over here. Look, he picked up a broken backhoe scoop. Look, he picked up the front scoop. He picked up a big piece of hay that he's going to put in the dump truck and a big barn roof too. He, look, he's picking up all the barn parts. Look, he's lifting them up. This will go in the dump truck. Look, it's dumped. Look, it's going to get a barn claw. There it is in his scoop. Look, it's already dumped. See it in the dump truck. Look, he picked up a big plaster floor that the barn was supported on and a lot of things that the floor was connected to too. That was the thing that supported the barn at night time so that the animals didn't get hurt and bark and scream and rush downstairs to see what was the bang. Look, all the walls are going into the dump truck. There those red parts that were the barn walls are. Now they will be made into paper once it dumps the barn walls into the tipper machine. You call this brown thing a tipper machine because it can tip. Look, it's picking up a couple small, broken off pieces of plaster. Look, there they go into the dump truck. Look, there goes the old crane into the dump truck. It was an old barn crane. It's picking up some old pieces of plaster. Now, look, it's dumping there. (Ryder just went to take a drink and came back, saying, "It feels like I still have some more words in my body.") Look, he picked up the last plaster piece without taking the barn roof off. Look, now the dump truck is full. Now the dump truck is going to the tipper machine. The tipper machine has a special edge so that all the trucks can dump their loads easier so that all the dirt falls straight into the tipper machine. See it falling. Now that was a little too much! Look, they're going to be careful. Look, the tipper machine is tipping up! Watch it's big wheels help it tip up. Look at all the stuff fall out! Look, it's tipping back up. There, look, it's empty.
