I can't even convince him to have bad manners

Ryder is obsessed with using napkins and having good manners most the time. Yesterday, we were at Costco and Ryder was eating samples. Unfortunately, none of them had napkins with them, including the pasta with cheese and oil on it. So Ryder's hands were messy and he kept telling me that he needed a napkin to wipe them on. So I explained that we didn't have any napkins and if he needed to wipe his hands he could wipe them on his shirt instead for now. He looked at me with this utterly unbelieving look and said, "Mommy, don't wipe hands on shirt. Need to wipe hands on a napkin!" To which I told him, yes we're supposed to wipe our hands on a napkin. For some reason he stopped talking about it after that, which is good because I never did find a napkin and he certainly wasn't going to wipe them on his shirt!
