Ren Fest Fun

We had a wonderful day at the Renaissance Festival yesterday. Since there isn't a Ren Fest in Indy (there is a tiny 1 weekend one in Fishers, but it is so small that it doesn't have many shows, booths, etc), we drove to the Ohio Ren Fest about 2.5 hours away. My parents went with us and we met my cousin Erin who lives in Kentucky. Luckily, the weather was gorgeous--mid 70s and not too sunny. We spent the day watching a bunch of shows, eating yummy snacks and browsing the craft booths. Ryder liked the joust, though he most enjoyed the comedy shows. The funniest show we saw was the Mud Show! It was hysterical! The stage was a huge mud pit and the show was about a Viking challenge, but it basically involved throwing mud (at the other actors and at the audience), falling into the mud pit so that it splashed on the audience, running through the audience and flinging/shaking/smearing mud on the people as they ran past. (Check out the pics of the actors!) Everyone got muddy including the audience and it was just the funniest thing! The show was packed and I would definitely go back again--what a riot! Ren Fest is always such a nice fall treat.
