Ryder is into pretending it's Christmas again. This isn't just a post-Christmas thing because he was into pretending it was Christmas last spring, summer and fall too. "Christmas" is his second favorite pretending scenario, second only to pretending trains or construction trucks. We pretend all sorts of stuff about Christmas--decorating the tree, decorating the house, wrapping presents, opening presents, putting up the tree, picking out the tree, making gingerbread houses, and on and on and on. One of my favorite activities is when we open stockings. To make stockings, Ryder fill his dress-up hats (the stockings) with assorted toys, dress-up accessories and other goodies. Then he passes out each stocking, which we have to diligently open, watch the other people open and ooooh and ahhhh over. Check out a few of tonight's stockings. Good stuff.
