Did you know that breast milk contains stem cells??? How cool is that? The following link is to an article that talks about the discovery, as well as discusses that scientists now believe that breast milk picks up where the placenta leaves off in terms of guiding a child's genetic outcome. It's awesome stuff! They are now researching whether or not the stem cells will be viable for harvesting to treat conditions like Parkinson's, etc. (They are hypothesising that in 5 years people will be harvesting them for such purposes.) That breast milk sure is amazing, amazing stuff. Keep on workin' that breastfeeding magic, ladies!
