Yesterday, Carter started making phrases for the first time (beyond adding please, Mommy, etc to something). She did it twice:
--When I went in to get her in the morning, she was sitting on the foot of the bed gazing at a parenting magazine with a baby on the cover that was laying on the floor. She pointed to the magazine and said, "Baby down. Uh-oh!"
--Later, when I was reading a novel (obviously with no pictures), she started paging through my book, asking, "Baby book? Baby book?" Sorry, no babies in the book. Amazing, I know.
I'm impressed with the progress and happy to be able to understand her better as her communication skills grow.
