Carter at 1 year 3 months

What big personality in such a little girl! Carter is sweet, loving, adventuresome, trouble-making, independent and adorable all at the same time. She is talking up a storm, repeating almost everything that is said to her and gaining multiple new words every day. She still uses the 5 signs that I taught her diligently, but always says the word at the same time. She loves to make animal noises and can make the sounds for 20 or so animals. We like to play the game, "Carter, can you be a cow? Can you be a horse? Can you be a lion?" She is still fascinated with her belly and loves to point out her belly button to everyone. Carter is able to run quite fast now and has started kicking as well. I'm impressed that at her age she is able to kick her foot up as high as her knee and still keep her balance. She still loves babies and dolls and is obsessed with reading books about babies, playing with dolls, talking to real babies...and on and on. Babies, babies all day long! She has quite an attitude and a "I want to do it myself" attitude at times. Sometimes, if I pick up a cup to hand it to her and she starts to get upset because she wants to do it herself, it's not even good enough if I put it back for her to do. She's still upset because I touched it at all! She is still a Grandpa's girl, though she is now excited when she sees Grandma as well. She has also developed quite a love for reading and is constantly reading books to herself and asking to be read to.
